The tamarind fruit is so tangy, yet when we tugged it off the huge hanging branches of the tamarind tree in my grand mother's courtyard, it was almost sweet...Another story that we got sick from eating too much of it! I use it a lot in cooking and to add a touch of tanginess to curries and fish preparations.
Tangy and sweet, this chutney is superb on roasted meats/bread/rice/sandwiches, and spicy crackers!
